I am in Dili right now. I have been here for a couple of weeks and the organization that I was working for has decided it’s time for me to go home. It’s been three hours since the first positive case of COVID-19 was declared.
Our Xmas Appeal raised $3,280. A huge thank you to the generous people who made a donation. These are valuable funds, as our bakery school project is in desperate need, with the terrorist bombings keeping tourists away from Sri Lanka.
The 12th batch of students are progressing extremely well. The statistics tell the story – 93% of graduates have found employment, the other 7% often choosing to return to school. And 65% have been reunited with their families.
Encouraging and supporting the education and empowerment of women in our community development programs is one of the most important aspects of RoundTrip Foundation’s work.
